Dr. Shieh is experienced in several major weight loss surgical procedures, enabling Surgical Healing Arts Center patients in the Naples-Fort Myers, Florida area to choose the best option for their needs. He is also trained in cosmetic surgery and offers post-massive weight loss body contouring. His areas of surgical expertise include post massive weight loss body contouring procedures, revisional bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, anti-reflux surgery and complex wound care.

Before joining the Surgical Healing Arts Center, he attended medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa. He completed his residency at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Michigan State University.

Dr. Shieh completed fellowships in both laparoscopic surgery from Northeast Surgical Group – Great Lakes Bariatric Treatment Center and cosmetic surgery through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

He is board certified in General Surgery and is currently board eligible for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Ramlogan treats patients with a broad range of bariatric, laparoscopic and general surgery concerns. His special areas of interest include laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, revisional bariatric surgery, hernia surgery and anti-reflux surgery.

Dr. Ramlogan, who was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, received his Medical Degree from the University of the West Indies. He completed his internship and began residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (Cabrini) program in Manhattan. Dr. Ramlogan was named the most outstanding intern of his class followed by the most outstanding resident in the program. Dr. Ramlogan then completed his residency at the New York Medical College (Sound Shore) program where he went on to serve as chief resident.

In 2011, Dr. Ramlogan completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery at Danbury Hospital, CT. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).

Dr. Abou-Lahoud is a general surgeon with Surgical Healing Arts Center. Prior to joining Surgical Healing Arts Center, Dr. Abou-Lahoud worked at Associates in General and Vascular Surgery as well as the Department of Surgery at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. His surgical area of expertise is minimally invasive laparoscopic and Robotic Abdominal Surgery.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology from Florida Atlantic University, followed by his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Abou-Lahoud completed his surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He went on to finish his surgical training at the University of Maryland in Baltimore where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Abou-Lahoud is originally from Lebanon and has been a Florida resident since 1992. Dr. Abou-Lahoud speaks five languages including English, Lebanese, Spanish, French and Portuguese.

Dr. Ibarra’s interest in patients’ care goes beyond clinical knowledge; he is passionate about innovation and information technology as a means to facilitate the clinical and administrative health processes. His clinical interests include the medical and surgical management of patients with obesity, and the wide variety of minimally invasive surgical procedures of the upper GI.

A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Ibarra received his Medical Degree from the Central University of Venezuela “Luis Razetti” School of Medicine. He started his training in General Surgery at the Ohmori University Hospital, Toho Medical University in Tokyo, Japan and completed his residency at the University Hospital of Caracas, Central University of Venezuela. It was at this hospital that he completed an additional subspecialty training in Bariatric and Metabolic surgery. He became an attending surgeon, teacher and mentor for residents and medical students for five years. Before coming to the United States, Dr. Ibarra had an active academic and medical practice specializing in Bariatric and General Surgery.

Upon coming to the United States, he received a master’s degree in Health Informatics at the University of South Florida and obtained his surgical assistant certification, adding his years of knowledge and experience in assisting with surgeries at Surgical Healing Arts Center. Dr. Ibarra is an international member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Nelayda Fonte, DO, FACOS, FICS

General Surgery, Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care

Dr. Fonte is knowledgeable, dedicated and caring and believes in the benefits of prevention. Born in Cuba, she speaks English, Spanish and French.

Before joining the Surgical Healing Arts Center in 2020, she was recruited from New Jersey to help develop the Level II Trauma Center at Lee Health more than 22 years ago, where she provided care to more than 2,200 trauma-registry patients a year. At Lee Health, she served as Assistant Director of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, was elected to President of the Medical Staff, and served a three-term elected Chief of Surgery. She continues to serve as Attending Critical Care Consultant for the Innovative Health Group at Lehigh Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Fonte received a bachelor’s degree in zoology and microbiology from Rutgers University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a trauma fellowship at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and completed a general surgery residency before serving as chief surgical resident at Kennedy Memorial Hospitals-University Medical Center in New Jersey.

She is board certified in general surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) and is a fellow for the International College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. She also has certifications from the National Board of Osteopathic Examiners, American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support instruction.

Carey Nease, MD

Plastic Surgery and Body Contouring

Having trained as an artist before turning to medicine, Dr. Nease is renowned for his unique ability to paint beautiful portraits with his hands. With 20 years of experience, he has performed more than 10,000 surgical procedures.

Dr. Nease earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, after which he went on to study otolaryngology, head, and neck surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He then completed a 12-month sponsored fellowship program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

He regularly provides lectures and presentations to peers across the country and trains surgeons from around the world in the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Nease was an instructor for the facial rejuvenation course sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) in 2012. He was also an instructor for the New and Established Techniques in Breast and Body Contouring Workshop in St. Louis.

Dr. Nease is a trustee of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the 2018 President of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS), and current Treasurer of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

She assures efficiency and stability of the medical operations and strives to guarantee spectacular customer service in all aspects of the practice. Kelsey has hands-on experience in multiple office areas, from front desk to insurance verification and billing. She is passionate about her work and enjoys helping patients achieve results.
