Dr. Shieh is experienced in several major weight loss surgical procedures, enabling Surgical Healing Arts Center patients in the Naples-Fort Myers, Florida area to choose the best option for their needs. He is also trained in cosmetic surgery and offers post-massive weight loss body contouring. His areas of surgical expertise include post massive weight loss body contouring procedures, revisional bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, anti-reflux surgery and complex wound care.
Before joining the Surgical Healing Arts Center, he attended medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa. He completed his residency at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of Michigan State University.
Dr. Shieh completed fellowships in both laparoscopic surgery from Northeast Surgical Group – Great Lakes Bariatric Treatment Center and cosmetic surgery through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
He is board certified in General Surgery and is currently board eligible for the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Miller is committed to making sure patients have all their questions answered so they can make the best surgical choices to achieve and maintain weight loss goals. He focuses on minimally invasive surgery, with areas of practice including endoscopy and wound care.
Before joining the Surgical Healing Arts Center, he was a general and bariatric surgeon at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Prior to that, at Adena regional Medical in Chillicothe, Ohio. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and procedures using the Da Vinci Robot as well as weight loss surgery and wound care.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree with biology and chemistry majors from Western Kentucky University before receiving his medical doctorate at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He served as a resident of general surgery at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio, where he received Intern of the Year, Resident Teaching Award, Excellence in Teaching, Department of Surgery Resident Academic Award and Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and certified in Therapy Hyperbaric Oxygen. He has Da Vinci Robotic training, and certification in skin and wound management, Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Before joining the Surgical Healing Arts Center, he was a bariatric, minimally invasive surgery and robotics fellow at AdventHealth in Tampa, and a general surgery resident at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, graduating with cum laude honors from Florida State University. He received is Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University, where he received numerous scholarships, the Board of Governor Award and was a research associate at the University of South Florida Biology Department and the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center.
He is a member of Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He has presented at national and international surgical meetings regarding trauma and bariatric surgery.
Certifications include basic life support, advanced cardiovascular life support, advanced trauma life support, fundamentals of endoscopic/laparoscopic surgery (FES/FLS). He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Having trained as an artist before turning to medicine, Dr. Nease is renowned for his unique ability to paint beautiful portraits with his hands. With 20 years of experience, he has performed more than 10,000 surgical procedures.
Dr. Nease earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, after which he went on to study otolaryngology, head, and neck surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. He then completed a 12-month sponsored fellowship program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
He regularly provides lectures and presentations to peers across the country and trains surgeons from around the world in the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Nease was an instructor for the facial rejuvenation course sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) in 2012. He was also an instructor for the New and Established Techniques in Breast and Body Contouring Workshop in St. Louis.
Dr. Nease is a trustee of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, the 2018 President of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS), and current Treasurer of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
